White Appliance Kitchen Ideas – Last week I revealed the living room and this week I’m sharing the new kitchen remodel! I bought a builder home so I was only able to make select upgrades to the home – flooring tile, cabinet color and countertops.
I’ve always dreamed of an all-white kitchen with white appliances like the ones I’ve seen on Pinterest. It was very important to me to create a kitchen that could photograph well.

Here’s the before – white cabinets, white countertops, stainless steel sink, and basic backsplash (which will be removed).
Kitchen Appliance Trends To Modernize Your Kitchen
A few years ago Best Buy took me to Kentucky to preview the new cafe line of appliances and I fell in love. I knew I wanted to add these tools to my future home Introducing the Café Appliance line by GE, customizable kitchen appliances with custom hardware, matte and smooth glass finishes.
The first thing I did was pick out cafe appliances with all white bases with brushed bronze hardware and then match all the other pulls and fixtures to match the appliances.
I absolutely love all cafe appliances – not only are they beautiful but they are also a powerhouse. The refrigerator is very roomy and I love that it is able to connect to my phone. The range has 4 burners so we can have several pans going at the same time and two ovens too! We use the microwave multiple times a day and the coffee maker every day.
Winning Kitchen Color Schemes For A Look You’ll Love Forever
For the backsplash, we selected Clay Imports Palmas tile in colored snow, glossy finish, and size 4″. Palmas tile is part of the Valladolid series that draws inspiration from the rich and luscious landscape of the Yucatan!
I love how the sharp lines add another level of texture to the kitchen when it matches the all-white kitchen.
This is what the island originally looked like – the house originally came with a stainless sink but I always wanted a white farmhouse sink.
Before And After Kitchen Makeovers To Inspire Your Own Renovation
We switched out the stainless sink for the VIGO 36″ Matte Stone Farmhouse Flat Apron Front Kitchen Sink and Matte Brushed Gold VIGO Livingston Magnetic Kitchen Faucet. When replacing a sink you have to replace the countertop so we selected a similar white countertop.
Who knew light could make so much difference in a space!? I love this Hinkley Somerset 11 1/2″W Heritage Brass Mini Pendant Light from Lamps Plus – the gold finish matches everything else in the kitchen.
We kept the original white cabinets that came with the house and added white gold pulls – I love the sun design on the pulls to match the other elements of the house.

For a while now, stainless steel appliances have been the premier design choice for modern kitchens. They’re shiny, sleek, and match basically everything. But they also have downsides (fingerprint marks, anyone?). That’s why we’re thrilled that there’s a new growing trend that’s dethroning stainless steel. Yes, we are talking about white appliances.
Kitchen Appliance & Design Trends For 2024
These tools are anything but old-fashioned. You no longer see what you had in your mother’s old suburban house. These white appliances are giving the kitchen a modern upgrade: from clean, all-white everything to cafe-inspired brass details and, of course, a hint of retro (but totally modern) Smeg appliances.
In an effort to get inspired for our own kitchen makeover, we took to Instagram (as well as some of our favorite designers) to search all the #kitchenideas and #kitchensofinstagram. Ahead, we’ve rounded up 18 of our favorite kitchens with white appliances.
Scroll through to get inspired for your own kitchen upgrade, and trust us, these white appliances will make you want to ditch that old stainless steel immediately.
Kitchen Trends That Are In And Out, According To Designers
Unlike bedrooms or living rooms, kitchens are easiest to keep neutral. This color palette keeps the white fridge looking fresh with complimentary black, cream and rustic silver. Also, the exposed wooden beams and framework around the windows bring an element of nature that would otherwise be amiss in such a modern design.
White appliances convey the appearance of cleanliness (even if you haven’t wiped down the surfaces in a few weeks). This kitchen does just that with all-white cabinets, a pristine white Smeg fridge, and a simple (but oh-so-chic) minicircle backsplash. Is it clean, is it dirty? We will never know for sure.
In an increasingly modern world of interior design, sometimes it’s difficult to strike the right balance between trendy and handmade. This kitchen somehow pulls it off. The all-white interior is incredibly modern, but statement lights, patterned floor runners, wooden floors, and lots of plants in wicker baskets somehow reel it in—making it that much more cozy and homey.
What Is Eco Friendly Kitchen Design?
A sleek white kitchen with minimal accents is always a gorgeous look to us. We love how the white island, upper cabinets, drawers and double door fridge line the space to create a larger look, while the black backsplash and black counters help ground the space. The open panels of the upper cabinets showcase a few select dishes, and the minimal amount of decor displayed around the room proves that a simple color palette is a great way to go.
A few years ago, it seemed like we couldn’t go anywhere without being bombarded with subway tiling. Now, it is considered an absolute classic. Here, the white stove and small countertop appliances blend seamlessly with the white tiling in a way that feels thoroughly modern.
When it comes to tiling, white isn’t the only way to go. Here, we love the idea of coordinating a colorful graphic-printed backsplash with white accents: from large counters with stovetops to small plants and upper cabinets. The flow of energy feels refreshing, not overwhelming like some graphic tiles.

Sometimes, it’s hard to imagine kitchen color palettes as anything other than neutral—especially when you’re working with white appliances. But bright colors, especially on cabinetry and walls, can be just as great. This rich emerald green color is perfect for adding elegance and intrigue to an otherwise neutral scheme.
There seems to be an unwritten rule that all appliances must be the same color. But we say: break the rules. Why not mix white appliances with black and stainless steel? This kitchen wouldn’t have the same atmosphere without the contrast between the cream fridge and black stove.
It’s true what they say: what’s old will become new again. Embrace a lot of vintage style and texture as a staple, in more ways than one. This gorgeous European-inspired kitchen has dozens of intentional, lovely aspects we can’t help but admire—but the range stove is truly the star of the show. Made in Italy, and with the perfect dose of nostalgia, the white oven truly proves how classic white appliances can be.
Kitchen Remodel Cost With Greige Kitchen Cabinets
When in doubt, it’s all white (or at least, mostly). Every touch in this kitchen is so deliberately placed: from the subway tiling to the double-door fridge, oven and cabinets placed right in the middle of the back wall. Except for the blue floor runner and a few hardware options, all you see is white.
We totally understand that finding an attractive-looking white appliance is easier said than done. That’s why we love the simplicity of this hidden fridge: the French-doored appliance is hidden behind white paneled cabinets. A pretty cool party trick, if you ask us.
There is something about white that pairs seamlessly with brass, gold and silver details. This is why this kitchen works so well. The white over paired with the black and silver range already creates a polished look, but paired with the brass and copper kitchenware hanging above it? The upgrade looks expensive without trying very hard.
The Secret To Making White Kitchen Appliances Look Chic
Who says the stove and fridge are the only white appliances allowed? This combined microwave and stove radiates a cool white tone that complements the kitchen space. Add a gray and white chevron tile backsplash and the results speak for themselves.
Granite countertops no longer rule. Now, it’s all about butcher blocks and marbles. We tend to gravitate toward the latter—especially against polished white cabinets, white French-door friezes, and natural hardwood floors.
In the early 2000s it is easy to add maple or oak cabinets and white appliances automatically. But in a kitchen with mixed woods, open shelving and chrome accents, it’s anything but. We love the display of crockery and wicker baskets, and naturally, the white fridge is a perfect addition to this kitchen’s cozy yet bright ambiance.
